Safe Driver Challenge

FSRMF Safe Driver Challenge Logo

The Safe Driver Challenge is designed to raise awareness about the serious and potentially fatal consequences of unsafe driving within sheriff’s offices. Created in response to a rise in at-fault and preventable crashes, the initiative focuses on addressing the root causes of these incidents — unsafe speeds, distracted driving, tailgating and improper backing.

Thanks to the success of the Safe Driver Challenge and other safety initiatives, FSRMF has seen a significant reduction in at-fault claims, highlighting the positive impact of prioritizing safety on the road.

To be eligible for the Safe Driver Challenge, deputies must have no at-fault crashes during the challenge period, must spend at least 51% of on-duty time operating a sheriff’s office vehicle and have no administered discipline during this period.
